Primus

The Californian based band Primus is an alternative, funk, rock band formed in 1984. The original members consisted of Les Claypool on Bass and Vocals, guitarist Todd Huth, and drummer Jay Lane. Both Huth and Lane left the band by 1989 and were replaced by guitarist Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander who formed what is known to Primus fans as the “classic” lineup. The trio went on to release some of the most influential albums of the 1990s, with “Sailing the Seas of Cheese” and “Pork Soda” taking the spotlight. Some of the band’s most popular songs were released from these two albums, such as "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver", "Tommy the Cat", and “My Name Is Mud”. A breakthrough that put Primus on the US Billboards, the MTV, and received Platinum and Gold certificates. Primus has released nine studio albums in total. Although they were on a break for a few years, the band continued to tour as headliners, special guests and as part of festivals.

When it comes to pop culture, Primus is often seen on the music credits. The band has featured their album hits and produced original soundtracks for many cult classics in Movies, TV and Video Games. Some of the band’s most notable features are The Beavis and Butt-head Experience, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and famously the original intro theme song for the American animated sitcom South Park.
