Skrillex - the master DJ and lord of house, techno, and drum & bass music - is returning to Red Rocks this spring just on the heels of his latest album to give us a five hour set at The Rocks this May on Tuesday the 13th. Red Rocks is very excited to welcome Skrillex back to the stage here in Morrison as he takes on the Amphitheater for a five hour mega set this spring on Tuesday, May 13th. I guess the club does indeed go up on Tuesdays - or, at least we do here in The Rocks when someone like Skrillex wants to play.
If you love EDM and you love electronic sounds, Skrillex is a name you’ve absolutely have heard of, and he is the undisputed king of dub and dance music. Whether it was a decade and a half ago or during his revitalization around three to four years ago, Skrillex has been giving us memorable tracks in the genre since the myspace days where he released his first EP My Name Is Skrillex, and he hasn’t looked back since. Now, celebrating the release of his newest album F*CK YOU SKRILLEX YOU THINK YOU’RE ANDY WARHOL BUT YOU’RE NOT!! <3, the Los Angeles DJ is giving us a five hour show right here at The Rocks. With no other shows scheduled yet other than a few festival pop ups here and there, and just a month after his new album - we can only expect greatness, red lights and lasers, and a damn good time. Oh, and probably a few guests pop ups here and there too.
Sonny Moore was born in California and raised all around the state. He parlayed into music from an early age - at first with a band named From First To Last. Sonny was the lead singer in the band, but eventually left to pursue a solo career in music and production. He came up with his name when making a joke of funny non-sensical online names used for AOL, but it stuck as he began to DJ more around underground clubs in Los Angeles and he stuck with it. And it definitely stuck with us and all his fans - now with eight GRAMMY awards, collaborations in all music genres, and over 20 million monthly listeners across all streaming platforms - Skrillex has rebirthed himself into a new artist from who he once was a decade ago.
